JANUARY 09 – New surveys
We have recently been appointed to carry out stock condition surveys for a number of new
clients including;

  • Almond Housing Association
  • Thenew Housing Association
  • Trust Housing Association
  • Shire Housing Association
  • Spire View Housing Association

Two of these clients are also taking on our Stock Information Database to manage their housing stock and monitor their progression towards SHQS compliance in 2015.

JANUARY 09 – Staff changes
We are delighted to announce that Barry Stevenson has joined our staff on 5th January as a Building Surveyor. Barry’s principal role will be to produce Energy Performance Certificates for our growing demand in this new sector but he will also provide valuable support to Louise our Survey Manager as our Stock Condition Survey work continues to grow.

In addition to our head office staff, we currently have 13 condition surveyors working on various surveys across Scotland from Livingston to Ardrossan.

DECEMBER 08 – New developments move ahead
In December two developments have received approval to commence to site. Williamsburgh Housing Association will commence early in the new year with a three close refurbishment of 32 flats in Paisley. We have worked hard with the Association to secure approved funding and to resolve the multiple ownership issues that were delaying the commencement of the works. Now that these are clear, we look forward to work starting on site.

December also saw approval to commence with a 25 bed extension to Rosehall Manor Care Home in Shotts for Third Life Care Ltd. This extension will provide much needed extra bed space and will ensure that the Home meets all the current statutory requirements to ensure it’s long term future. It is hoped that works will commence on site in early February 2009.

JUNE 08 JMP Launches Stock Information Database:

In January 2008, we launched our new Stock Information Database, affectionately referred to as SID. This is a purpose built, web-based database that allows users to view, amend and update all properties within their housing stock, identify their SHQS compliance and run 30 year investment profiles for any single or combination of properties. “This is a huge step for us” said Graeme Reid “ and one that I am confident will enhance the level of service we are able to provide as well as filling a massive need in the social housing sector for a simple, flexible stock condition database”. A sample of the database can be viewed by following the link in the “Services” section of the website.

JUNE 08 JMP Appointed to carry out 4,500 private sector surveys for North Ayrshire Council:
JMP have just been appointed by North Ayrshire Council to carry out a private sector survey of approximately 4,500 properties across the whole of their geographic area. This is a challenging study but it demonstrates our ability to provide a well co-ordinated and coherent approach whilst meeting the primary objectives of the brief. This extends the current workload we already have with the Council.

JUNE 08 JMP staff members up and running:
Two JMP staff members are meeting challenges of a different sort this year.

Louise Halpin our Survey Manager has just completed the Glasgow Woman’s 10k and has signed up for the Great Scottish Run 10k in September. Well done to Louise and keep up the training.

Our Director, Graeme Reid will be competing in the gruelling West Highland Way Race at the end of June which covers the 95miles from Milngavie to Fort William. The time limit is 35 hours but Graeme is hoping to get close 24hours. We wish him all the best and a speedy recovery!
