About

FORWARD THINKING

Founded in 1983, The JMP has evolved from a traditional Chartered Quantity Surveyor’s practice into an organisation looking confidently to the future.

ABOUT

BACKGROUND

From a background primarily in public sector housing, we have worked hard to widen our range and are now able to offer services across a number of disciplines and sectors. We have embraced the introduction of new technology and are able to offer our clients the benefits that this affords. The result is a flexible, dynamic firm that offers significant expertise, whatever your requirements.

ABOUT

SCOPE AND QUALITY

The practice was founded by John Beaton & Martin Kilmurray but now overall responsibility for the firm lies with Graeme Reid who joined the practice in 1993. Graeme is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor who has gained extensive experience and expertise in all current areas of the business and is seeking to continue to develop the scope and quality of the services provided.

“Our philosophy has always been one of providing a professional yet personal service to all our clients” says Graeme, “In this type of work, we find that many of our enquiries come through recommendations received from previous clients and so our reputation and the quality of the service we provide is extremely important to us”

AT THE JMP

..we are continually striving to improve the way we work, the quality and type of work we do and range of services we provide.

MEET THE TEAM

Managing Director

Graeme Reid BSc MRICS

Graeme joined JMP back in 1992 as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor but took over ownership and the overall management of the business in 2005. Graeme has worked extensively within the social housing sector for over 30 years and has built relationships, contacts and a reputation in the sector that sees him provide services, advice and support to huge range of organisations. Graeme oversees all the business activities of JMP and is supported by his dedicated team of colleagues, associates and suppliers.

When not at work, Graeme can usually be found on his bike or running the trails with his hyper-active Cocker Spaniel, Milo. A multiple Ironman finisher and ultra-marathon runner, he still believes there’s always time for coffee and cake.

Survey Manager

Louise Dillon BSc Hons

Louise initially worked for JMP as a freelance Condition Surveyor but joined in 2005 to take over the role of Survey Manager. Louise has looked after every survey carried out by JMP since then, keeping all our Surveyors productive, managing address lists, Surveyor and tenant enquiries, data flow and progress reports. Louise has a very ordered and organised mind and has been the friendly and supportive voice at the end of a phone for our Condition surveyors for almost 20 years.

Outside of work, Louise has her hands full looking after her young family (just like her day job!), but when the opportunity arises, she likes to get outside and walk in her local hills.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Richard Innes BSc

Richard heads up our Quantity Surveying team, he joined JMP in 2007 and has spent most of his working career within the social housing sector. Much of our work is based around procurement and project management and Richard is able to bring to bear 25 years of experience in providing sound, reliable and  professional advice to our extensive range of clients. Like all QS’s, Richard takes great delight in attention to detail and has been involved in supporting other organisations in the assessment of quantum for large multi-million pound contractual disputes.

Richards passion, outwith the office is golf and he boasts, what we are assured is, an unfairly low handicap picked up on his tours of his local Ayrshire golf courses.

Senior Building Surveyor

Barry Stevenson BSc Hons

Barry started at JMP much like Louise, as a freelance Condition Surveyor but came on board full time in 2007 to oversee the production of Energy Performance Certificates and energy efficiency advice. A role that has grown significantly in volume and importance over the past few years and his input has assisted many Housing Associations with developing investment strategies to tackle the progress towards Net Zero. Barry is also our qualified Drone Pilot and has flown over much of Central Scotland capturing fantastic, high resolution images providing amazing added value to the rest of our service offering.

As well as being a Building Surveyor, Barry is a mountain biker and likes nothing better than hurtling down an impossibly steep mountainside at terrifying speeds, before turning round to do it all again and again.
